Hand Tools…Are They Still Necessary

You would think that with the development of electric powered tools, air tools and digital calipers, traditional hand tools will be relegated to the past when people have horse drawn carriages and use this tools to cut and pound. Try to look around, hammers, screw drivers, saws and planers are only some of the hand tools that are still used today.

Modern technology has made possible the development and manufacture of power tools. The air saw, air hammers are only two of the air tools that would undoubtedly make the work faster and a lot easier.

By using a digital caliper accurate measurement will be obtained without exerting a lot of effort. This is effective in accurate jointing works or those intricate wood projects like musical instruments.

The pounding of the hammer, the rhythmic sound of the saw would give the user a special satisfaction of doing the task at hand. By using hand tools that are handed down from generation to generation the son gets the chance to experience how the father as well as the grandfather accomplishes work in their time.

However, it can not be denied that some tasks are best done by using a hand tool. A lot of people are doing DIY projects these days. A simple book shelf, a wooden planter or fixing a rusted gate, the ordinary hand tool will most certainly be needed to do these simple tasks. But when there’s a need for more, you can’t go wrong investing in air tools.
