Pawar to represent MCA at BCCI AGM

Sharad Pawar, who is to step down as the president of Cricket Board on completion of his term at its AGM next week-end, will represent the Mumbai Cricket Association at the two-day sitting. “Sharad Pawar (MCA president) will represent the MCA at the BCCI Annual General Meeting to be held on September 27 and 28 (in Mumbai),” said MCA’s joint secretary P V Shetty in a media release today. “In his (Pawar’s) absence Dilip Vengsarkar (MCA vice president) will attend the meeting,” Shetty said explaining the decision taken at the MCA’s Managing Committee meeting held here last evening. This was one of the important decisions taken by the MCA Managing Committee yesterday.

Other MCA sources said the managing committee had also decided not to extend any concession to Reliance for expenses incurred by MCA in organising IPL ties at the Wankhede Stadium earlier this year for which Rs 50 lakh is due to them. “It was decided that the amount would have to be paid in full by Reliance (owners of Mumbai Indians franchise team).

And we would part with some amount due from them for conducting matches at the D Y Patil Stadium in Nerul to the latter once we get it,” they added.
