The Variety of Blogs
For 2004, “blog” has been dubbed Word of the Year. And from that year on, blogging has become a force to reckon with in the Internet. You can’t just possibly ignore bloggers and blogging since basically everything these days can be blogged, and everyone can be bloggers.
One of the types of blogging that has risen recently in popularity is a news blog. A news blog is a collection of news articles that are compiled in reverse chronological order. It generally revolves around and feeds on news stories. Though in a generic sense, news blogs cover current events, some bloggers tend to focus on the news of their interest, such as politics.
Companies also blog as a marketing strategy. Business blogs are not just made to establish authority with customers and increase business exposure, but also to promote services or advertise products. Artists and musicians also employ blogging to keep in touch with fans, to promote tours, and other updates. There are also project blogs which documents the progress of an ongoing project of whatever nature, or travel blogs that shares travel experiences.
Blogs are very varied in genre and purpose. While some cater to a particular audience, there are also others that just do it for fun and still produce top blogs with a wide audience.
