Visiting Key West
Visiting Key West is an exciting prospect. There is so much to do, so much to see, and it’s a beautiful tropical island. You could just lounge around at your hotel’s beach or pool and it would be a fantastic vacation, right? There’s so much more, however, and most people are tempted to get out and explore the island. First thing that comes to mind might be to discover the various Key West beaches.
There are several beaches along the south side of the island, such as Higgs Beach, Dog Beach, and Smathers beach. Smathers is very popular, and you can also rent water sports here. Try parasailing, wind surfing or kayaking from a rental area on Smathers Beach. Another area to explore while in Key West is the Key West cemetery. This beautiful section of Old Town is gated off with old iron gates and fence, and the vaults and tombstones show visitors an authentic look at Key West’s history.
