Where is your family making cuts to pay for gas?

Eating out less, less clothing purchases and fewer trips everywhere!!!

Three years ago, I remember complaining to a friend about how the cost of a box of smokes had doubled in the last year. The standard answer I recieved was “Stop crying, and quit smoking:

Last week that same friend mentioned the rising cost of gas. As I lit up a smoke, I replied, “stop crying, and quit driving”

I spend no more for gas now then I did two years ago. I drive a lot less, but I spend the same per week as I used to.

Look at where you go, and why. combine trips.
After work, hit the grocery store, book store, whatever.

Use each trip to it’s fullest. I no longer go shopping because we need out of the house. Unless it is required, or life or death, the car sits.

Well, my husband’s employer pays for his gas(thank god because he does a lot of driving). And I don’t work so basically I just don’t go as many places as I used to. If I do have to run errands or something I just group them all together and do everything in one trip. I’ve had to make a few sacrifices but nothing big.

we walk to places that are close and combine trips (I grocery shop on my way home from work). Before I started this job, I also carpooled regularly at my last job. This is a minor savings, but we also got rid of our gas mower for a manual lawn mower.
